The selectors are responsible for ensuring that Manly Lawn consistently fields as many competitive teams as possible in the Metropolitan Grass Courts Badge competitions. The Selectors are accountable to the Committee for team composition, performance and the satisfaction of Club members who participate. Selectors are also responsible for securing Team Captains who can represent the Club professionally and who are capable of leading, motivating and improving their team.

Members can request placement on a specific team, however, the selectors have the authority and the responsibility to determine the composition of each team based on their assessment of what is in the best interest of the club and its members.
