Another beautiful day in
Sydney and the weather looks to be staying for the
weekend – a great opportunity for some social tennis!
We also have our last team playing in a Badge Grand
Final – Ron Jeff’s team will be battling for the title
against Neutral Bay at midday so come on down and
support the team. Social will officially start at
1.30pm...
Congratulations to our Men’s
Team Number 1 who under the leadership of Ryan Mitchell
won grade 1:3 – a fantastic result! Commiserations to
Team 3, Scott Blackburn’s team, who narrowly lost out on
the title to Southern Districts in Grade 2:1
With the 2011 Autumn Badge
Season coming to a close for MLTC's finalists, we are
pleased to offer two further forms of competitive tennis
to our full members - MLTC's Internal Comp and Tennis
NSW Spring Badge. Applications forms have been
posted on the notice-board at the club and applications
will close Sunday 31 July 2011. Entries can also be
emailed to
mltc_social@yahoo.com.au or
social@manlylawn.com Please indicate if
you are willing to play every week or as a reserve only.
Things to know
MLTC Internal Competition
-
the Internal Competition
season will kick off on Saturday 13th August and run
until late September (exact finish date to be
confirmed depending on number of participants)
-
the format will be
confirmed once the number of participants has been
confirmed.
-
matches will be
approximately 2-3 hours in duration and will be
played between 12pm and 5pm on Saturday afternoons
at MLTC.
Spring Badge
-
the Spring Badge season
runs during September and October with 7 weeks of
regular home and away matches and an additional two
weeks of finals for the top 4 teams
-
Spring Badge is a one
court competition and each team is required to field
only two players per match. The pair will play 3
sets of doubles each week.

matches are played from
1pm to 3pm on Saturdays at either MLTC or other
participating clubs
-
the ability of MLTC to
participate in Spring Badge is subject to sufficient
interest from members
