Club in 1933

MLTC first competed in the NSW Lawn Tennis Association's Badge Competition in 1926 with all teams reaching at least the semi-finals.

During the 40s, 50s and 60s the club was fortunate that Australia played the Davis Cup Challenge Round on Boxing Day and the two following days.

Many overseas players played in our Seaside Tournament as the first tournament in the Australian tennis calendar at that time. The season finished with the Australian Championships.
 

The tournament is still going strong and is an important part of the Australian satellite tennis circuit.

A who's who of Australian tennis greats including Ken Rosewall, Frank Sedgman, John Bromwich, Lew Hoad, Neal Fraser, Rod Laver, Fred Stolle, Evonne Goolagong, Christine O'Neil and Dianne Fromholtz have won the Seaside Championships.
